A Network of Professionals to Serve You . . .
is a unique, personal resource for
answers about health care . . . home support
. . . retirement issues . . . financial matters . . .
legal resources . . . and scores of other
concerns for senior citizens and their families.
How It Works . . .
A SeniorLink Counselor first responds to your call. He or she will talk over your concerns and offer initial ideas and support. Some problems can be solved at this level. For example, if you need to know the differences between a nursing home and an assisted living facility, your Counselor can explain this to you and help you decide which kind of facility is appropriate for your needs.
SeniorLink Referral Network
If you are interested in additional information or more specialized expertise, your SeniorLink Counselor will research your issue and connect you with professionals in your area who have the training and experience to assist you.
In the example above, if you decide that you need to look into assisted living facilities, your Counselor will research the names and quality rating of facilities in your area and contact you with this information.
In addition, the SeniorLink research staff can provide you with names and information about qualified service and care providers in your community to address your specific needs. The following is a partial list of the categories of consultants and providers included in the SeniorLink referral network:
Home Health Agencies
Homemaker and Home Maintenance Services
Caregiver Support Groups and Associations
Elder Law and Disability Law Attorneys
Newsletter: SeniorLink publishes a quarterly newsletter, free for all members, offering regular columns and ideas for seniors and their families.
Discounts: Travelers Insurance offers members of SeniorLink discounts on individual long-term care insurance.
Cost . . .
Membership, including the newsletter, is $52 per year. (That's per year, not per month!) As a member, you are entitled to unlimited contact with SeniorLink Counselors without charge.
The cost of services from professionals to whom you are referred by SeniorLink is contracted directly with the provider. SeniorLink cannot pay for these consultations. When available, SeniorLink will inform you about the rates or other costs of the providers to whom you are referred.
